About EFW

Last Light On WrathGuard

Escape from WrathGuard [EFW] is a hardcore melee only massive multiplayer game set on the planet WrathGuard, formally known as Proxima Centauri b; with the ability to escape from the planet, for those who are able.

The Ascent of WrathGuard

It began on the Moon in 2467. A company called WrathGuard found more than just dust up there; they found Helium-3, an infinite power source, and the golden ticket to monumental speeds. But power wasn't enough. They wanted the stars. By 2495, they pulled a rare ore called Dilithium from the lunar depths, the key to "Warp Bubble" technology. This wasn't just about speed though; it was about keeping a human body from tearing apart at the new propulsion technology that reached 70,000 miles per second.

The Exodus

As Earth and the Moon teetered on the brink of war over this new tech, WrathGuard fled. They sent a massive mothership on an 11-year journey to Proxima Centauri b. Your ancestors were on that ship. They landed in 2533, renaming the world "WrathGuard." For over two centuries, humanity flourished in peace, building cities like Titan's Reach and many other outposts. Strangely, those born on this new soil grew stronger than any human before them.

The Great Storm

The time of peace shattered in 2749. From the "Terminator Zone" - the dark, unexplored side of the planet - a dense raging storm abruptly came upon us; bringing monsters that hungered for everything we built. The capital fell. Our high tech weapons were useless; they were immune to our guns. Our communication with Earth was destroyed. It was hopeless, these things always found you, no matter where you hid.

The Sanctuary of Wimbledun

The lead scientist, Dr. Vesper Quill was visiting our small island town of Wimbledun to test his prototype. He had developed a shield generator called Winterveil, with the goal of defending space mining rigs from debris; it was built from a strange stone that was found under the capital. Out of desperation he deployed it just as the darkness arrived, and thankfully the shield held.

"We are the last light in a world of shadows. Wimbledun stands for now, but the rest of the planet belongs to the things in the mist. If you want answers—or a future—you'd best go find the Doctor. He’s the only one who knows how much time we have left.” - Thomas the Historian
